Head of Healthcare

Looking for a new challenge?

Are you looking to develop your skills and realise your full potential?

Join our Public Sector Team

The Softcat Public Sector team is a high-performing, ambitious, and exciting place to build a career. With 11 established verticals and more than £1bn in annual revenue, the business is both mature in capability and bold in its growth ambitions.

Healthcare is one of our most significant and strategically important verticals. It already makes a major contribution to our success, while still representing a huge growth opportunity for Softcat. The Healthcare team is made up of two high-performing teams and 19 Client Directors, working at the heart of the NHS and wider healthcare ecosystem.

As demand from NHS customers continues to expand, our ambition is to accelerate growth, deepen our impact, and continue to invest in talent. This is a pivotal moment for the team, and we are looking for a leader who is excited by scale, complexity, and opportunity — someone who will own the strategy, inspire the team, collaborate across the business, and deliver meaningful results for our customers.

This role offers the chance to shape the future of one of Softcat's most important verticals, influence the direction of the wider Public Sector organisation, and make a real difference to how we support the NHS.

Success. The Softcat Way.

At Softcat we want to support you at every stage of your career. Whether that means stepping up into a more senior role, taking on more responsibilities in your current role or broadening your skills and experiences in a different department, we encourage all our employees to develop and grow with us.

Your Role

As Head of Healthcare you'll be accountable for strategy formation, delivery and performance against budget in our healthcare teams. • Develop and maintain a strong vendor and partner ecosystem, identifying strategic alliances and unlocking joint growth opportunities.
    • Define and execute regional growth strategies, ensuring consistent vertical execution and market relevance across geographies.
    • Lead and align go-to-market motions, working closely with technology towers, enablement, and marketing teams.
    • Own the customer engagement strategy, partnering with advisory teams, specialists, and account managers to deepen relationships and increase impact.
    • Sponsor and support vertical events, campaigns, and thought-leadership activity in collaboration with Marketing.
    • Drive sales and capability enablement, ensuring teams are equipped with the right messaging, propositions, tools, and skills.
    • Own vertical revenue, growth, and profitability performance, with clear accountability against agreed targets and KPIs.

We also acknowledge that the confidence gap and imposter syndrome are a real thing and can get in the way of us meeting fantastic talent, so please don't hesitate to apply – we would love to hear from you!

Work in a way that works for you

We recognise that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too. In this role, we can offer the following flexible working patterns:

    • Hybrid working - 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home
    • Working flexible hours - flexing the times you start and finish during the day
    • Flexibility around school pick up and drop offs
