The Sales Strategy and Planning team is a newly emerging team focussed on positively improving sales performance. Working closely with the senior leadership team, Sales Operations and Sales teams our focus is to deliver strategic projects improving the experience of our people and customers. Be part of our Sales Operations team 

As Sales Strategy Planning Executive, you will support the planning and implementing of strategic and long-term goals across Solutions, Services, Public Sector and Corporate Sales functions. You will conduct reviews to identify strengths and weaknesses and to evaluate effectiveness, as well as taking an active role in specific strategic initiatives. You will be supporting the future success of Softcat's sales function.

Your role will also incorporate strategic and operational aspects of the sales function. These responsibilities will include (but not limited to): Programmatic management of key projects, Systems improvements, incentive plans, managing initiatives, providing relevant data, suggesting ideas for improvement and supporting effective collaboration across the multiple business areas.

To achieve your objectives, you will have to work very closely with internal teams including Sales Management, Commercial Finance, Operations and Internal IT to implement new ideas and initiatives which gain buy in but also positively affect the performance of the solutions sales team and wider business.

As Sales Strategy Planning Executive, you'll be responsible for: 

  • Collaboration, ensure relevant stakeholders have clear visibility of all active projects. Have a clear understanding of the business and stakeholders outside of sales. Provide regular updates to sales management.
  • Manage key projects in line with the sales strategy, provide a programmatic approach to driving improvements, tracking milestones and ensuring all ongoing projects are delivered effectively.
  • Provide visibility of key governance and performance measures to drive business intelligence led decision making. Analysing key data to support, justify and demonstrate benefits of initiatives.
  • Support the Sales Strategy and Planning Manager to prioritise the roll out of plans/projects to drive performance improvements across Services & Solutions, focusing on the core strategy of people, customers and performance.
  • Operational tasks, including having a clear understanding of operational impacts, engaging and supporting Sales Operations when appropriate.

  • Adaptive, able to keep track of business changes and react accordingly
  • Strong communication skills – via email, in person, and on the phone
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships internally
  • Articulate – ability to present information clearly, persuasively and elegantly
  • Commercial acumen – ability to use data to make informed decisions
