An exciting opportunity has become available for someone to join our Vendor Alliances team as our Ireland Vendor Alliance Manager. This would be the first Alliances head in our Dublin office and this person will be responsible for promoting Softcat into 10-15 strategic vendors at sales and executive levels in Ireland, ensuring that the day to day working relationship is fluid and effective.

Your role

You will be responsible for local ownership and sponsorship of these key Softcat vendors, ensuring promotion of Softcat both internally and externally. You will have the support of the wider Vendor Alliance team and existing relationships to support all activities. Developing a broad knowledge across all four of Softcat’s IT priority areas you will need to be able to articulate how and where vendors complement each other and could expand a sales opportunity. You will be required to coordinate, host and support regular engagement to ensure ongoing presence onsite at Softcat, maintaining close engagement both with Softcat and Vendor sales teams to drive maximum commercial advantage.

Other key responsibilities will include; Business development and relationship management across multiple vendors and technologies, working with Softcat general and specialist sales teams and aligning with account managers to maximise revenue and profitability within our opportunity base. You will also have full ownership of pipeline, reporting and all marketing activities related to your vendors. 

What we need from you

  • Previous industry experience would be desirable
  • The capability to build relationships quickly and mature them over time
  • Have the appetite and desire to learn and take on new challenges
  • Confidence to operate when required at a senior level
  • Be a proactive, motivated and highly driven individual with the ability to grasp multiple product sets and the structure and processes behind selling them
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Credibility, with an entrepreneurial edge, to own and run a Top 3 vendor business
