Your Role

This new role is responsible for providing operational support to the Reward, Payroll & HR Operations Manager in all aspects of HR Operations and Reward. 

What you'll be doing


  • Providing advice and support on reward and recognition matters to managers and employees
  • Dealing with queries from HR and employees on reward, benefit and compensation matters
  • Managing existing reward and benefit processes using industry benchmarking to make changes where necessary
  • Supporting in the design and delivery of all Reward key projects and cyclical activity such as Pay Review, bonus payments, introduction of new benefits and annual benefit windows
  • Being the day to day contact for all key benefits and keeping the Reward, Payroll & HR Operations Manager apprised of any key issues, trends and performance information
  • Supporting in all communication plans related to all Reward and Benefits including policy drafting and implementing
  • Seeking out and recommend improvements and changes to Reward policy and practice
  • Working with key stakeholders in the business to understand key Reward requirements, make recommendations and support roll out of key changes

HR Operations

  • Managing the HR Coordinator within HR Operations, ensuring high quality HR administration
  • Ensuring that the HR system and data held within it is fit for purpose and utilised to its fullest
  • Building, maintaining and developing HR key metrics and data for HR and the business usage
  • Periodically processing payroll as and when required, as cover for the Payroll Administrator
  • Acting as the escalation point of contact for employee queries relating to payroll and benefits
  • Working with external and internal contacts to ensure that a highly accurate and efficient HR service is provided to all employees and key stakeholders
  • Working with the Payroll administrator and HR Coordinator to ensure HR, payroll and benefits process all are documented to a high standard, identifying possible improvements and making recommendations for change
  • Implementing any key HR initiatives
  • Providing support in employee communications and drafting and implementing policy changes

What we need from you

  • Reward experience working in the HR department of a medium or large-sized company
  • Experience in key reward projects and cyclical activity such as pay review and bonus payments
  • Experience in introducing, managing, processing of benefits, working with external benefit providers and interpreting HMRC guidance
  • Understanding of payroll processes, ideally with experience of working closely alongside payroll
  • Confident producing and manipulating management data to inform decisions
  • Excellent prioritisation, organisation and communication skills
  • Experience of working with HR & Payroll systems
  • Ability to confidently engage with key stakeholders and understand requirements
  • Proven understanding of end to end HR processes, HR policies and procedures
  • Strong awareness of HR/Payroll interfaces and how to handle pay/benefits queries
  • Proactive and practical approach to problem solving and ability to identify areas for improvements in process, services and team ways of working
  • Highly organised with ability to plan, delegate, prioritise and multitask high volumes of work
  • Able to coach team members to improve performance and develop skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Accurate data entry skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office programmes, in particular Excel and data analysis
